The Sammy Cup

A picture for Great Grandma Yahn:
The Sammy Cup

we celebrated Great Grandma Marla's life this weekend, and I got to see and meet a whole bunch of family

Gramma Yahn was in town. It was her birthday, mom got her a cake, and aunty Casey and gramma Romero got her one too

This is the jacket uncky Brad got me

In Tracy, I met the Feenans -- Dad's cousins. Here's his cousin Peter and Peter's fiance Hannah

Grandpa always puts me to sleep.

My grannies

Hey :o)

In other news, I have learned to wield toys and other objects, a skill that will be greatly beneficial when fighting lions and baboons on the Serengetti

Super Bowl Sunday

Sunday was my first Super Bowl ever, so dad and me decided to let the world know that even though two lousy teams were playing in the big game, our hearts were with another certain team from a certain east side of a certain bay that come February 2010 will be hoisting a certain Lombardi Trophy over their collective heads.

So for the big game, we started out at auntie Erica's apartment in Sunnyvale where mom saw some work friends that she hasn't seen since I was born.

Then we went down the street to where auntie Kathy and uncle Eddie were throwing their own party, and we emt u with grandma and grandpa.

I played my first game of paddy cake with auntie Michelle.

As neither team was wearing silver, I lost interest in the game, and when Cash 4 Gold's commercial came on, I lost interest in the commercials (Yeah, I'm gonna send you an envelope with my gold teeth in it . . . you must be crazy Ed McMahon and Hammer).

The Fort Bragg Wagg

Mom, dad, big brother Bowser and I packed up the new station wagon and took a family road trip to Fort Bragg, just north of Mendocino on the coast.

the view outside of our room at the Beachcomber Motel

I took a moment to reflect upon it

The weather was fabulous, if a bit windy . . .

Bowser almost took flight, we think he might've been a little too heavy.

Mom and I did a little bit of shopping on Main Street

I enjoyed the road trip mostly when we stopped and I got break from my car seat

Mom tried to get to know some of the locals . . .

But they were a tad standoffish

We took some photo booth pics too. Perhaps soon we'll get them scanned in and share them.

Great Grandma

On Sunday January 18, Great Grandma Marla passed away. We love her and cherish every moment that we were able to spend with her right up until the very end. On her last day, she was able to hold me and say good bye to me one last time. My mom and dad and I will miss her very much. This picture above was snapped four days after I was born, on her last trip to visit my parents in Pacifica.

We spent most of the last two weeks in Tracy with great grandma. When we would come home, we mostly just messed around the house.

I went to the doctor's last week. Weighed in at 13.25 lbs and about 23.5 inches.
I'm smiling pretty regularly now with even a few rare giggles, which have yet to be captured on camera, so this will have to suffice:

Mom and dad bought a new (that is to say used) car. A 2002 VW Passat Wagon with a busted back seat cupholder. After they signed the papers with the car salesman, I heard dad mutter a goodbye to his reckless youth and a hello to his sensible fatherhood.

Well, me and the old folks are off to Fort Bragg for a few days. We'll check in to let you know how my first trip went.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .

Sam and his Dad sleeping in the rocking chair

. . . Mom caught dad and me in an afternoon siesta on Saturday . . .

Great Grandma update: After a difficult weekend, great grandma Marla seems to be doing well enough. Mom and dad and me went up and hung out with her this weekend. I guess the glow of a certain baby helped perk up her spirits. We love her and dad thinks we'll be ok to go back to Pacifica for a few days.

Just A Few Pics and a Couple of Videos

Hello everyone.

Since the beginning of the month, my dad has been taking his paternity leave from work.

It's been nice having the old man around as a pillow

We spent a few days in Tracy visiting Great-Gramma and her sisters Aunty Judy and Aunty Tina. When we came home, mom and dad caught me in fit of smiley squealy happiness --

Well, hope your new year's going ok. Mom and dad say to call if anyone needs anything.
